Lymphatic Drainage

September 2025

Holy Moly Y’all! I just tried an MLD session for the first time and I’ve been blown away! First, I thought I knew what MLD was. I do, on a clinical and anatomical level, but I was not prepared for how it would FEEL! I am astounded by it's effect on my nervous system. Sarah’s 1 hour MLD treatment was like coming out of a coma! I had a really stressful week with some unforeseen medical emergencies and poor sleep, and I emerged feeling like she had taken my nervous system from a 9 to a 1. That deeply calm feeling felt like it lasted for 3-4 days. I’ve enlisted Sarah below to tell you all about the kinds of conditions that MLD can help with, but my takeaway was that it was profoundly relaxing-more so than any other massage I've ever had-even ones focusing on exclusively 'relaxation.' Sarah mentions clearing lymphatic pathways helps our bodies process circulating cortisol faster, and I think that was the physiological explanation for that deep calmness that I felt. I will be seeking this out in periods of acute stress, as well as on some sort of regular interval to keep up with detoxification efforts. Without further ado, a note from Sarah!

Hi there!! I hope this newsletter finds you all well! First, I am SO passionate about this work! MLD is a gentle but extremely powerful and effective modality that so many people can benefit from! MLD primarily treats post surgical swelling, acute swelling from injury, lipedema, acne & other skin issues, fibromyalgia, autoimmune & inflammatory conditions, migraines, digestive disorders, seasonal allergies & chronic sinus issues, cortisol reduction, post cancer treatment recovery, shortens recovery time for athletes and the list goes truly on!

I have benefited from MLD in my own personal health journey which is why I am so very passionate about this work because I know firsthand how immensely healing it can be. I use MLD in my daily life to manage severe allergies, eczema and migraines. Before I started doing MLD on myself I was really struggling to get these conditions under control so stimulating my lymphatic system to work more effectively was exactly the push my body needed to heal and recover. MLD was life changing for me and my hope is that many of you will have that same experience!

This week I attended 16 hours of additional training in advanced MLD where I learned some VERY cool techniques that I cannot wait to share with you all!! One of the most interesting things I learned at this class was lymphofascial release! Many of you are familiar with myofascial work which releases the fascia surrounding muscles to alleviate pain. The lymphatic ducts sit within the fascia layers of the body so restrictions within that fascia can directly impact the flow of the lymphatic system. Lymphofascial release works to release restriction in the fascia surrounding lymphatic ducts to allow the lymph ducts to flow much more easily! Fascial work and lymphatic work really go hand in hand so many who have benefited from myofascial release may also benefit greatly from MLD. I hope this information inspires you to give MLD a try and get your lymphatic system moving!

If any of you have any questions about MLD or the lymphatic system I am a total nerd about anything and everything lymph and would gladly answer them for you! I also plan on following up with newsletters highlighting specific conditions that MLD can be beneficial for and breakdown exactly why for you all, so stay tuned! - Sarah
